Günter Strobl


Günter Strobl is a Professor of Finance at the University of Vienna. His research interests are in corporate finance, financial intermediation and asset pricing under asymmetric information. His work has been presented at major conferences around the world, including the AEA, AFA, WFA, EFA, and FIRS meetings, and published in leading academic journals such as the Journal of Finance, the Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Accounting Research, and Management Science.

Prior to joining the University of Vienna, Günter Strobl was the BHF Bank Professor of Finance and Faculty Director of the Doctoral Program at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and an Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He worked as a senior consultant at Ernst & Young, a consultant at EVIS Software GmbH and a financial analyst at Österreichische Investmentgesellschaft mbH, all in Vienna, Austria.

Günter Strobl received his PhD and MA, both in finance, from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School. He earned his MS in business informatics from the University of Vienna.
